One Golden Lane Construction Progressing

On our way to a site visit in the City of London, we couldn’t resist taking a look at the impressive building progress of one of our projects at One Golden Lane, where we are working with developers, Castleforge.

Retaining much of the existing structure of the historic building and extending it, this is a highly sustainable refurbishment with a BREEAM innovation credit and a high scoring Urban Greening Factor.

Our work includes creating a green veil on southern façade to reduce the urban heat island effect and improve air quality . We have also designed terraces and roof gardens for the building bringing benefits of nature to workers and visitors. At street level there will be public artwork, new trees and flower beds, better footways and accessible spaces. All this helping to create a green corridor linking One Golden Lane to nearby green spaces including the Barbican podium gardens, Barbican wildlife garden and Fortune Street Park and all designed to complement the urban character of the Barbican.
