Works complete on London’s Luxury Sloane Street
The grand project to improve and enhance London’s Luxury Sloane Street has now been officially opened.
The works included widening the pavements and enhancing them with a new planting scheme, elegant street furniture and improved lighting were added to create a more welcoming environment for pedestrians.
After more than a decade of planning and extensive public consultation, it was formally completed at a commemorative stone laying ceremony on February 13th.
Working closely with Cadogan Estates, The London Borough of Kensington and Chelsea and John McAslan and partners, Andy Sturgeon Design devised the layered greening scheme, introducing more than 100 new trees, extending the beauty of the private seven acres of Cadogan Place Gardens at the heart of the Street along the pavements, connecting the natural and urban landscapes.
The planting consists of a diverse and climate resilient mix of flowers, shrubs and other drought-resistant species from Mediterranean climates, and will offer year-round splendour with spring flowers, summer berries, autumn colour and a sculptural branch structure in winter.
All this fits into an intricate scheme that included carefully sourced materials meticulous design and artisan crafts all with sustainability at its heart.
We are proud to have been part of these major works and look forward to seeing our planting grow as the new look Sloane Street continues to be one of London’s most important shopping and leisure destinations into the future.
